Hub - the UK’s largest free urban youth festival - took place on 17-18 May 2008 and was stuffed with loads to do.
Thousands of people enjoyed two days of funky break-dancing, beatboxing, mad tricks and mighty fine music…
Including:
- World bike champion Martyn Ashton in the Animal Relentless bike tour
- Team Extreme skate park and vert ramp (demos by top BMXers and skaters, plus amateur comps)
- UK’s only open air international bboy tournament - brought to you by Soul Powered - with bboys and bgirls from across the globe
- Graffiti artists working on a 250 metre graffiti wall
- Free workshops in Double Dutch hip-hop dancing
- DJs ICE-C and Rasp
- Live music from Shlomo, ‘the world’s finest human beatboxer’, Young Kof, BabyGravy, Metro Manila Aide and Lazy Habits – plus loads more on the music stage.
- The Line - when you’re least expecting it..! ‘Flash mob’ dancing by 100+ dancers will startle the crowds at Hub. (Just you wait!) Brought to you by dance company Collision, as part of the Culture Company’s ‘Liverpool Commissions’ artistic programme.
- Nintendo Wii are coming and giant screens showing festival highlights and the breakdancing competition.
All this, and a large outdoor BBQ, Rockstar energy drinks and shopping heaven in our urban village, with New era caps, big brands and extreme sports equipment.
